Assigned to work as the Country Head for the India Business Unit. Successfully, instituted the entry of the US based company by establishing the India organization, introducing an India specific product portfolio, launching the brand and expanding the channel in over 25 cities of India. Mentored and motivated a cohesive team which came from diverse organisational backgrounds. Established and retained a controlled, but niche distribution network, which enabled the brand to establish an enviable position in the Indian Faucet market. Spearheaded the setting-up of the assembly plant and supply chain infrastructure. During the entire tenure, the company has held a spotless track record on internal and external audits.Galvanised the resources to achieve a stupendous revenue growth in the period 2009-13, under extreme AR control. Successfully steered the company to achieve the desired Operating Income in respective years.

The last role at Samsung was to re-establish the Canteen Services (CSD) Business. The role required redefining the channel processes, product mix and solving the multi-state complexity of taxation and laws to generate a regulated federal business for the company. A complete turnaround of the business catapulted the revenue growth of the company.

Introduced generation-Y product line-up that would work on all new digital-converging entertainment platforms; the task was to drive demo-traction at the point-of-purchase and uplift the brand as a worthy competitor. This not only enhanced the company revenues, but also cemented Samsung as a major player in Home Theatre system and lifestyle entertainment industry in India.

During the stint, my major contribution was towards instituting and launching the ‘Samsung Marketing Academy', a company-wide internal training department. Conducted numerous trainings on variety of subjects and hierarchies. In the role of a Black Belt, I enabled co-workers to build internal capabilities, competencies, and efficiencies by driving multiple Six Sigma projects. Instrumental in training, coaching and supervising projects of individuals undergoing certification for Six Sigma Green Belt level in the organization.
