In my time leading teams in the Pharmacy Manufacturer and PBM/Hub spaces, I worked directly with a team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and prioritization of work.I paired with stakeholders across the business to help define and prioritize requirements in order to launch programs that brought free and reduced priced medicines into the hands of thousands of people who could not otherwise afford them.I lead several key technical initiatives in my time at PilllPack, directing the teams to build re-usable APIs for large scale partner integrations responsible for a projected 1/4 of the overall in yearly revenue target, as well as minor program expansions responsible for incremental yearly revenue as well.Additionally, I helped prioritize work to reduce oncall burden by an order of magnitude, reducing pages from a near constant stream to a few per day. Further, I lead the transfer of ownership of parts of the technical stack to other teams better equipped to own them, to help streamline and focus my team on executing their core mission.Finally, I helped provide a future-forward plan for structuring both the requirements process as well as the technical organization itself to allow the business to continue to scale in the years to come.

In my time as HOE, I continued to focus on personal development and growth for my team, but transitioned into focusing on my more senior engineers and managers, delegating some of my prior responsibilities to allow those folks an opportunity to advance.My primary focus was on ensuring that our teams had the right culture to allow engineers to grow and improve, while still focusing on delivering meaningful work for the product and the business.I worked on managing our teams and individuals through two rounds of change management, one being our original formation into a practice and an aligning of engineering work, product goals, and customer outcomes for the business, and the second being a mid-year set of changes in response to the impacts on hiring and staffing that COVID-19 had on our teams.I was also responsible for helping to build and establish our reporting funnel for customer health and success, working with our internal BI teams as well as product and marketing to determine the right things to track, and worked with those folks and the engineers to understand how to track them, and ultimately built and maintained several reporting frameworks to assist in publishing these numbers to the business as we continued to evolve how we viewed our customers. This work extended to helping with team based KPIs, where i advised teams on how to think about achievable metrics that matter, and not just ones that look good on a chart.I was also routinely involved in customer facing problems, from hands-on debugging and security patches to critical pieces of our software, to sales and POC calls, to outreach about new features or capabilities in our software. Through my time at Rapid7 I worked closely with our engineers to help them grow and evolve not only as engineers, but as team members and collaborators, and am proud to say that I was able to help several engineers be recognized for promotions, and was able to mentor and promote ICs into management.

I worked as a founding engineer at Komand, helping to deliver features while improving the scalability and performance of the platform as a whole.I built the capability to scale the platform horizontally in a modern infrastructure, as well as wrote the Go SDK, and worked on the Python SDK. In addition, I worked to establish strong development practices and architectural standards to help build a more maintainable platform as a whole.Additionally, I designed a microservice based approach to modernize the way the platform integrates with third-party services.

I worked as a Staff Engineer at Tapjoy on a number of projects, ranging from legacy to greenfield projects.I helped to update and improve the precision of the financial pipeline when dealing with micro amounts of money with no downtime to the business, as well as a large-scale migration of terabytes of financial data out of MySQL and into MemSQL.I made numerous improvements to the monitoring and alerting processes.I was one of the chief "problem solving" engineers, routinely jumping across team boundaries to help other teams / engineers solve production issues and design solutions (acting in my capacity as a "General Technologist").Additionally, while I was not actively on the operations team, routinely spent time working with the ops team to design solutions, improve existing systems, and diagnose / debug issues in production. I held the title of "honorary" operations engineer.I was also the foremost in-house expert in Go, and helped to introduce it as the next major language we we wrote new services and applications in, as well as ported older logic. Some of these projects resulted in significant savings to the companies bottom line.

Worked on several client projects, including an Online Restaurant Ordering System, and a Web-Based File Management System.Was one of the main influences on the Conversion Action Platforms (the flagship product) overall direction and design, from Database to U/I.Designed, Created and Maintained Web Data Tracking, Lead Management / Collection, and Phone Number Purchasing / Management Systems, along with methods of exporting this data.Designed, Created and Maintained several Windows Services to process incoming data, and handle long running / asynchronous tasks.Additionally, developed a "Heart Beat" system for these Services, including an internal website to view the statuses.Responsible for authoring almost every SQL report used in the system, in addition to helping support and administer the Database as a whole.Developed tools and utilities to improve the efficiency of the development team. Among these, several methods of generating test data for the purposes of checking data integrity and system load stability.Was the chief software engineer in regard to investigating faulty or suspicious data, and was routinely tasked with solving "Mysteries" in the database, and the system as a whole.Partially responsible for maintaining and improving in-house CMS.
