I am a passionate educator and management professional who likes to live and work at the crossroads of perspectives and disciplines. My graduate studies have been largely multidisciplinary, and I believe it reflects positively in the way I teach and relate to my students. I have studied in the fields of history, business management, psychology, philosophy, humanities, ethics, government, leadership, theology, education, and communication. Because all of these fields tend to interact (and sometimes overlap) with each other in our world, I’ve actively sought out a better multidimensional understanding of them. These educational experiences, along with my other life and work experiences (before, during, and after my 21 years of military service all across this great world of ours), have helped shape me personally and professionally and continue to shape me anew daily. Life truly is interdisciplinary, so I have wanted my own education and life to reflect that, and as I see it that it gives me a slightly unique view of the world (whether that is good or bad is up to the perceiver, I guess😉).I prioritize my life as faith first, followed by family, friends & others, and work. Anyone who knows me well knows that my faith is a big part of my life. In fact, it is the foundation of my worldview, my values, and my actions every day. I do my best to align my behaviors to my principles and my beliefs. Sometimes I fail, but failures are the foundation of success when we take the time to learn from them.

Worked in roles that included work as an electrician’s helper and laborer focused on residential and commercial electrical installation, troubleshooting, and repair with some local electrical contractors, multiple assembly line roles doing mobile home construction and finishing mobile homes (from floor construction to roof construction and everything little detail in-between which could include things such as electrical fuse box, electrical lighting and electrical outlet installation, appliance installation, interior painting, quality control checks, and last minute touch-ups) with Fleetwood Homes and Homes of Merit, new home construction worker and laborer with some local contractors, sheet metal worker at a local sheet metal shop, and countertop cutting and preparation with a local countertop manufacturer among other roles. There were a few roles held during this time that were not directly construction related such as an assembly line worker at an International Paper plant that produced corrugated cardboard boxes, as a telemarketer seeking donations for what was claimed to be a local “Fireman’s Association” (still doubtful of the legitimacy of that place to this day), and as a selector in food cold storage warehouse.
