Serves as tenured Assistant Professor of Management for the college's Business Department and Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Management (BAS-OM) program, teaching classroom, hybrid, and online courses. Teaches a variety of lower and upper-division Leadership, Business Management & Human Resource Management courses (Leadership & Management, HRM, Recruiting & Selection, Compensation Management, Training & Development, HR Capstone, Leadership & Management Capstone, Intro to Management, Business Communication, Personal Finance, Organizational Behavior, etc.), as well as other related core courses in our Organizational Management degree program and our Associates degree programs. SME for BAS-OM program's HR specialty track and serves as the primary full-time faculty for HR courses. Coordinated and manages SHRM Academic Alignment program partnership between EFSC and SHRM. Develops course materials and course curriculum for multiple business-related courses. Designs and revises course plans for multiple business-related courses. Coaches and counsels business students on career planning and development. Serves as a volunteer mentor for assigned students through school's Student Success Strategies program. Serves on college-wide and campus faculty committees. Proudly educating and developing our future business and HR leaders.

Serves as the Lead Coach and Consultant at Elevate P3. Also serves as the Lead Trainer for our Building and Leading Resilient Teams and Facilitating Career Development courses to cohorts, groups, and individual clients, as well provide freelance business management consulting services to organizations.Elevate P3 is a specialized coaching, consulting, and training firm that is headquartered in Melbourne, FL. We offer hands-on one-on-one goal coaching, personalized management consulting services in our local region, and we are also an authorized training provider for both the Building and Leading Resilient Teams course through the Resilience-Building Leadership Program and the Facilitating Career Development (FCD) course through the National Career Development Association. Both courses are preparatory courses for professional certifications such as the RBLP series of leadership certifications (RBLP, RBLP-C, and RBLP-T) and the CCSP and GCDF certifications for the career coaching and career services industries. We offer courses online, in-person, or in a hybrid format both publicly to individuals and privately to groups and organizations. 21 year military career culminated in duty as the Director of Reserve Retention at Fort Sill, OK (official military title was Command Reserve Component Retention Sergeant Major which I held at the rank of Master Sergeant - E-8). My program focused on career counseling, career planning, military-to-civilian transition planning, and Soldier retention. Key focus areas included organizational effectiveness, talent management, employee engagement and employee retention, talent acquisition, business process design and improvement, change management planning and implementation, training & development, design of employee orientation and onboarding programs, organizational structure and design, and succession planning. Developed and deepened skills in transformational leadership, performance management, team building, communication, career counseling, conflict management and resolution, employee development, leadership development, mission/goal development, and the organizational development process.

Gained crucial experience in multiple domains, from front-line leadership to training program management to combat operations to operational and strategic planning. Built solid foundations in performance management, team development, process improvement, change implementation management, talent development, succession planning, coaching, and mentoring.

Coached and mentored 42 at-risk young adults aged 16-24 y/o during the summer job skill development program, Young Leaders, where we placed the participants in paid internships with 30 area businesses and government institutions. Responsible for interviewing applicants, selecting qualified candidates, conducting onboarding and orientation for participants, conducting group work-skill training sessions, career counseling, conducting individual mentoring sessions, and, at-minimum, conducting weekly employee/employer progress and development check-ins. Administered, graded, and interpreted TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) tests for program participants.

Worked mostly in various construction industry roles around the Polk County, FL area. Worked in roles that included work as an electrician’s helper and laborer focused on residential and commercial electrical installation, troubleshooting, and repair with some local electrical contractors, multiple assembly line roles doing mobile home construction and finishing mobile homes (from floor construction to roof construction and everything little detail in-between which could include things such as electrical fuse box, electrical lighting and electrical outlet installation, appliance installation, interior painting, quality control checks, and last minute touch-ups) with Fleetwood Homes and Homes of Merit, new home construction worker and laborer with some local contractors, sheet metal worker at a local sheet metal shop, and countertop cutting and preparation with a local countertop manufacturer among other roles. There were a few roles held during this time that were not directly construction related such as an assembly line worker at an International Paper plant that produced corrugated cardboard boxes, as a telemarketer seeking donations for what was claimed to be a local “Fireman’s Association” (still doubtful of the legitimacy of that place to this day), and as a selector in food cold storage warehouse.

Worked in various service industry roles around the Polk County, FL area. Some positions included bussing tables and washing dishes at Commercial Truck Stop, cashier and cook at such fast food restaurants as McDonald’s, Checkers, and Juicy Lucy’s, bagged groceries and stocked shelves at the grocery store Kash-N-Karry, and waited tables at restaurants such as Perkins, Golden Corral (before the buffet-style that they do now, if you can believe that), and some local restaurants among other roles.

In my very first “on the payroll” job, I worked as Batboy for Kansas City Royals during Spring Training in Baseball City, FL and then for their Single A Minor League Team, the Baseball City Royals, during the regular season in the summer of 1990.
