Part of the Insurance Platform Team building the backend for our onboarding funnel and the administrative portal for Account Managers and Insurance Operations. Projects have included:- Devising and implementing a new way to display IDs for policies that are both unique and contain semantic meaning for insurance professionals - Adding to and tweaking underwriting logic while refactoring our underlying underwriting implementation- Migrating all of our policy documents from an external vendor and setting up a new policy document management system in house

Joined Fair as part of the Fair Canvas acquisition. Part of the transport team along with some work for the platform team.- Design and initial implementation of a new service to handle integrations with external vendors for managing the transport of vehicles between locations (written in ruby).- Wrote a command for the Fair CLI to generate a scaffold for new services as part of Fair's microservices suite based on the service's name and language (written in go).

Full Stack development primarily backend work on both product and underlying infrastructure. Projects include:- Coordinated development and wrote the backend for integration with Nova Credit to extend credit to potential customers with credit history outside the United States- Made fixes/improvements to the underlying platform including, fixes to model names arising from our Vin decoding, parallelizing our test suite, overhauling our seeds to use configuration files and be more testable, revamping the way we do ticketing for support engineering. - Wrote developer tooling, including a rails generator to automate creating classes employing Canvas’ custom service library, the introduction of and configuration for a linting tool and scripts to facilitate syncing app configuration between team members.- Gave talks on topics such as intermittent test failures, code reviews, dotfiles and unix tools

Full stack web development for the Bright Funds app including features for end-users, company admins, and internal Bright Funds admins. Projects including:- Designed and developed an API integration with bill.com to automate back-office processes for the distribution of over $1 million in monthly donations to non-profits. Worked closely with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, iterate on the product and make adjustments based on feedback.- Implementing an A/B test of a goal-setting feature and making data available for analysis via partners at non-profit design and consulting firm Ideas42. Ensured the accuracy and integrity of data, and anonymity of user data and was the technical point of contact with Ideas42. - Started an engineering team initiative of bi-weekly talks and knowledge sharing- Lead company discussions related to philanthropy and corporate social responsibility

- Supported the migration of the company website through assisting in the creation of a content management system using PHP and laravel 4. - Implemented caching of views to improve performance. - Wrote integration tests for the administrative site. - Planned new deployment infrastructure for production site.
