I work closely with IT directors throughout the state of Virginia to grow collaboration and enhance communication. I create the vision and identify priorities for our K-12 IT program. I generate communication channels for school technology leaders to foster greater collaboration and problem-solving on IT-related issues. I lead school data privacy projects—in addition to providing broad cybersecurity guidance. I was hand-selected to lead a high-visibility, high-profile conference room transformation and upgrade to advanced, state-of-the-art technologies. I partnered with leading vendors to ensure workability and interoperability and with the state IT agency to drive robust infrastructure capabilities. -Ensured full agency operations during pandemic. -Provided extensive communication and collaboration tools supporting the transition to hybrid work models. I directed a wifi upgrade and implementation and partnered with vendors on deep analysis of wifi requirements. -Delivered highly secure, highly available staff and guest wifi. I established, led, and facilitated the K-12 IT advisory group encompassing IT directors from each region. -Grew collaboration and knowledge sharing among regions around IT issues and opportunities for innovation. I built a team with the mandate to grow awareness of digital equity and forged a partnership with the future FCC Chairperson. -Conceptualized and launched 1st-ever Digital Equity Conference in 2019.-Recognized by state / national organizations as a K-12 broadband and digital equity leader.I led and revitalized the nation's largest educational technology program (E-rate).-Transformed program culture—and aided leaders to more easily obtain federal network infrastructure discounts.I wrote and administered the Virginia Initiative to Support Internet Outside of Schools Network (VISION) CARES Act. -Enabled grants to Virginia school divisions during pandemic.

I directed strategic planning and set office goals. I partnered with the governor's office and Virginia Community College to address workforce development issues and create solutions to drive job creation and grow state economy. I provided recommendations and subject matter expertise to develop and revise policies, regulations, guidelines, and legislative studies.I was selected—based on my recognized technology background—to transform the end-to-end GED process from paper to web-based. -Slashed credentialing time from 5+ days to 1 hour—and eliminated the need to physically drive to downtown Richmond. I directed the implementation of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) across 23 regional adult education and literacy programs. -Transformed the approach to adult education throughout the state. Previous professional experience includes Director of Accountability & Educational Technology with the Virginia Department of Correctional Education.
