Basingstoke

IT consultancy for solutions based around Windows Server 2003/2008 R2. Principally Terminal Services/RDS deployment using Microsoft App-V for application virtualisation & delivery. Datacenter rationalisation and virtualisation using both VMWare ESX and Microsoft Hyper-V in various HA configurations including shared nothing architecture. All aspect of IT consultancy including pre-sales, ITT response, Design, Build, Configure, Deliver, Handover and post installation support where necessary. Team leader for the Professional Services team between March 2012 and Feb 2013 reporting into the Executive Board.

I worked with an international team to re-design the Active Directory and move from various disjoined AD environments to a Server 2003 AD forest with the UK being the primary site. We also moved the entire business from the old site in Slough to Langley with only 2 hours downtime thanks to extensive planning and preparation.

At lifecycle we worked with telecoms routing and billing platforms. My role in this was primarily to look after the internal infrastructure but I also worked on customer projects, the most notable being when I designed and implemented the entire Billing and mediation platform for the AOL Talk (now Talk Talk) project including all of the remote access, storage and redundancy requirements.

I started as an IT support junior and worked my way up into the Infrastructure department. We were working with Windows 2000 to deploy a full AD and Exchange migration from NT and 5.5. We also used products such as RIS, SUS and DFS which were relatively new concepts at the time.
