Sofía Melgar is a Ingeniero de Procesos at StarChem, LLC.. Colleagues describe them as "I had the honor of meeting Miss Sofía Melgar during my first period as a professor at the National Autonomous University of Honduras, in the summer of 2022. From the first day of classes, Miss Sofía caught my attention due to her high interest in participating daily and above all, her natural leadership, since she served as Co-president at AIChE (American Institute of Chemical Engineering) of the Honduran Chapter. In addition, miss Sofía always demonstrated academic excellence and excellent performance as a workgroup coordinator in my subject. Later, with the crucial help of Miss Sofía, we founded an extracurricular volunteer program called Training Leaders in Chemical Engineering and related careers (FLIQI+, in Spanish)”, which helped promote the strengthening of engineering and science students in Honduras through networking with professionals from different areas. Her total commitment to the program led her to be part of the board of directors as a student representative and to be the class president of the first generation of FLIQI+ leaders. Definitely, Miss Sofía is an incredible person, full of positive energy, optimistic, and an angel for the people who have the honor of knowing her. I believe that Miss Sofía Melgar will go far, where each of her dreams will be fulfilled, with the desire to help others and change the world for the better."
