Mohamad Hossein Mirbagheri, PhD, is an associate professor in the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering at Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT). He graduated from Isfahan University of Technology with a B.Sc degree in Metallurgical Engineering. He then went on to obtain a M.Sc and Ph.D. in Material Science Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 1995 and 2002, respectively. Subsequently, he underwent sabbatical studies in the Department of Materials Science at Imperial College London. In 2002, he began his professional journey at The Razi Metallurgical Research Center. He was a Research Scientist and Project Leader in Razi’s Research, Development and Simulation Department. He was appointed assistant professor in the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering at Amirkabir University of Technology in 2005. Since joining Amirkabir University, he has established his own research platform focused on lightweight materials and metal foam structures. He joined the Department of Life assessment and Failure Analyses at Rahyaft Advanced Sciences and Technologies (RAST) starting March 1st, 2016. His research focuses on processing and characterization of metallic and resin foams, and the connection between the processing structure properties and material weight and density. Also, he is interested in simulation of casting and solidification processes. He has authored multiple ISI journal papers, three national books, one book chapter, and has won multiple national awards. Among his honors, Dr. Mirbagheri was awarded the Amirkabir University Best Researcher Award in 2006, was recognized as the Best Researcher in the country for reverse engineering a large hydraulic jack with high-tech equipment in 2019, and was named Top Researcher of Amirkabir University in 2019, he also won the National Annual Book of 2018 award.
