😳 I made every money misstep possible as a young adult (some would say I was trippin'):- Maxed out credit cards- Overdraft fees to the point my bank accounts were closed- Repossessions (because one wasn't enough of course), and more. A mentor pointed me in the right direction and kickstarted my 180° financial turnaround. Not only did he help me think about money differently, but also change the way I felt about past mistakes. You can probably tell by now I'm not shy about sharing my money slip ups (and how I corrected them). Once I became comfortable sharing my money story, I realized the power and the comfort it gave others to acknowledge, share, and change their own money lives! I started KnowMoney.org in 2013 to be the 'Steven' I needed in college when I made my money missteps. We've helped more than 7,000 students gain access to financial wellness resources!Now I have married my experience as a financial educator with my training in financial psychology and behavioral finance to continue my work as a Financial Therapist.
