February 2005, I transferred to the Department’s Traffic Operations Unit in the District office as a District Access Management Engineer, responsible for 18 counties and currently work in that capacity. Duties include processing requests (generate scaled plan sheets for revision by Professional Engineers) for Commercial driveways, Special Encroachment permits and Temporary conditional permits, Field Plan Reviews (PFPR,FFPR). * Making assessments are a daily exercise as this office will receive, review, interpret, analyze and summarize data on plans submitted for their conformance to the Departments requirements.* Field plan reviews are held weekly with clients and the primary design is discussed to ensure the Departmental requirements, policies and procedures are met for the final design.* Provide effective instruction and guidance to develop new method and procedures when established methods are inapplicable.* I generate correspondence and Issue Permits when all Departmental requirements have been met. Computer skills used for this position include AMPS-Micro Station-Video log-RC Applets-Kip request (print and copy to send PDF’s) Project wise, TripGen, Sidra, SimTraffic 8, TREX and Google Earth. Recent classes include recertification for Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission (level II Cert. Plan Reviewer), Erosion Control Supervisor, Seven Habits of Highly Successful People, Access Management, Location and Design, The Art of Exceptional Customer Service. CPR Certification and Modern Roundabouts.July 2004, I was assigned to be State Aid Coordinator in Area 3. Supervision of Departmental personnel included assignments to projects, coaching and PMF/s. Duties included director of all Airport and TEA projects. * I was involved, inspection and documentation, with the Rehabilitation of the fender System along the environmentally sensitive area of Coastal Georgia (MacKay River) intercoastal Waterway.
