I enjoy work with individuals, couples, and groups, and have experience with civilian and military veteran clients experiencing the effects of trauma, major life transition, grief and loss, difficulty with emotional regulation, chronic physical disability, and mild TBI.I use an emotion focused theoretical approach, as put forth in the work of Dr. Les Greenberg, and have received formal training in Dr. Sue Johnson’s Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples. I believe that people are agents of their own positive change, and that many are unaware of the association between primary emotions and thoughts and behavior. My experience has taught me the importance of understanding the client’s worldview and value system, without imposing my own.
