Joined Wounded Warrior Project® as an Alumni in 2014 and as a Teammate in 2022 as a national service officer for benefits, northeast in the NYC office. In my role, I am responsible for the proper filing and administering of compensation benefits to the U.S. Department of Veterans’ Affairs, as well as specific DoD and veterans’ health administration entitlements. I am also responsible for representing Wounded Warrior Project’s benefits services team at many veterans centered events throughout the country.Prior to joining WWP, I medically retired from the US Navy as a Command Career Counselor, where my advocacy journey began. From 2013 to 2021, I worked as a Crisis/Trauma Intake Counselor where I provided case consultation and referral to services for trauma survivors and those in crisis. Also worked as an Advocate and Education Facilitator providing curriculum development, training, and program oversight. Programs included Life Skills and Military Life programs for transitioning and active-duty service members, veterans, and family members. Facilitating command briefings and classes onboard NAS Oceana and Dam Neck Annex in the areas of mental health, career transitioning, VA Disability Claims, work life balance, pre and post deployment, family advocacy, victim advocacy, anger, and stress management.
