Manage the day-to-day operations of Serco’s engineering, design and drafting department with personnel located in Virginia Beach, VA, Charleston, SC, Colorado Springs, CO and San Diego, CA. Oversee and coordinate the efforts of (25) engineers, designers and drafters in the development of Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs) and Installation Design Plans (IDPs) for various SPAWAR programs and systems. Responsibilities include managing the day-to-day operation of the Electrical/Electronic/IC Engineering and Design department. Project Manager responsibilities included fiscal performance and projections, product quality, coordination of task assignments to meet production schedules, and review of contract reports to ensure proper accounting of man-hours and cost expenditures. Supervised the development and review of Electrical, Electronic and Interior Communication (IC) drawings for repair, overhaul and modernization of U.S. Navy, Military Sealift Command (MSC), and Commercial ships. Provided review and approval of subject drawings for conformance to drafting and design standards, and customer design guidance. Provided coordination with other design groups to ensure all aspects of the installation design criteria are met. Worked with the department manager in development of job estimates, job assignments, production schedules, and other contractual requirements. Provided technical guidance and support to the Alteration Installation Team (AIT) in the resolution of problems and discrepancies uncovered during installation of electronic systems. Assigned as Waterfront Engineer to support installation of the Rolling-Airframe Missile (RAM) system and Ships Self Defense System (SSDS) onboard LSD Class ships. Interfaced with NAVSEA, Planning Yard, SUPSHIPS, Ship’s Force, and shipyard personnel in the daily aspects of problem resolution, production management, and overall installation coordination. Assisted the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) with the revision of Installation Control Drawings (ICDs) for the SSDS Mk I & MK II Systems. Managed the development of Site Installation Plans for AN/SPN-35C and AN/SPN-43B Radar Systems for the Land Based Test Site in Pensacola, Fl.

Developed work specifications, labor estimates, material requirements, subcontractors’ statement of work, and production schedules for emergent work identified during the repair and overhaul of U.S. Navy, MSC, and commercial ships. Supervised the installation, repair and testing of various electrical/electronic and interior communication equipment and systems on subject ships. Interfaced with the various Naval Hull Planning Yards on the development of Ship Alteration Drawings to support installation of equipment and systems onboard various Navy ships. Provided engineering support to the various shipyard trades in problem resolution and correction. Accomplished shipchecks and developed engineering drawings and advance planning packages for installation of AN/WSC-3 (FLTSATCOM), AN/UYK-20 (NAVMACS), TSEC/KWR-46 and TSEC/KG-84 Crypto equipment, and AN/SPS-10/40/64 Radar systems. Assisted with the design of a Mobil Radar System Van for NSWC, Dam Neck.
