I am Smitha Rao, passion-driven entrepreneur born in a business family in Ranebennuru, Karnataka. My father is my role model who built his empire with hard work, business ethics, and human values. He always aspired me to chase my dreams.I have done my engineering from MIT, Manipal and MS from BITS Pilani. After working in MNC for 2 years, I met Krishnan KM, who introduced me to this entrepreneurship journey. I am married to supportive husband Manohar and blessed with 2 beautiful kids. I love adventure sports and experienced Sky Diving and Scooba Diving. Recently learnt to ride bullet (My passion and fear :)As part of my entrepreneurship journey, I travelled to more than 30 countries, had an opportunity to work with intelligent and inspiring minds across the globe to build Utthunga brand.I have been involved in key customer acquisition, contributed to the branding and positioning of Utthunga. I am OPC Foundation accredited OPA UA expert and have a good understanding of the Process Automation industry especially in Industrial standards like FDT, FDI EDD, HART, WirelessHART, Ethernet/IP etc. I have written many white papers, IEEE publications and was speaker in various industrial conferences across the globe.Currently, I am heading Europe Business for Utthunga. I am also responsible for the strategic association with Industry standards like OPC Foundation, ODVA, PNO, FieldComm Group, FDT Group, TheOpen Group. I am also part of OPC Hub India steering Committee. I was honoured with the "Woman Entrepreneur of the year - IT" award from STPI Govt of India, Karnataka. "Life is beautiful, make it worthwhile !!".
