Experienced structural engineer with a passion for innovation, excelling in the development of design & analysis software tools, new product R&D, and remediation of existing structures. I am currently the Engineering Development Lead for the ClearCalcs cloud-based structural engineering design platform. Prior to that, I was a Senior Engineer in structural engineering technology consulting (3 years), responsible for project management, proposal writing, and business development, and I have also previously worked as a forensic/remediation engineer (2 years) and as a structural materials researcher (4 years). My experience has historically focused on cold-formed steel and post-tensioned concrete, but I have a strong portfolio in most common materials, and I particularly excel in high-fidelity finite element analysis (ABAQUS, ETABS, Strand7) as well as in the development of design tools (Python, JS, Matlab, Excel). Engineers Without Borders has held an important place in my heart for for nearly a decade, and I recently used my skills in organizational and logistics management to act as Committee Secretary and help establish the EWB-Hong Kong Overseas Projects Committee as a strong force in humanitarian engineering in southeast Asia.
