The Provincial Data Network is critical to delivery of efficient, effective and secure information technology services. It includes approximately 1,500 network switches that are in over 360 government buildings/ locations throughout Nova Scotia. Many of the switches were at the end of their useful life and needed to be replaced.STRATEGY & PLANNING• Assisted with re-design of building networks to ensure compliance with CIO network standards • Documented network designs in Microsoft Visio.• Coordinated with Implementation Coordinator for installation of new LAN switches. • Participated with the NU team to consult with business and technical stakeholders on the development of plans for network cut-over ACQUISITION & DEPLOYMENT• Configured new Cisco network switches for deployment • Decommissioned existing network switch infrastructure • Follow the approved project processes for network upgrades • Follow the approved exception process when required for application specific requirements Show less
