Hired as a consultant to write and design online continuing education courses and other materials for educators in primary and secondary schools.• Researched and wrote a book about innovative projects that integrate health education into secondary school curricula through partnerships between schools and public health agencies in diverse communities around the country, resulting in improvements in student achievement, behavior, and health. With an initial printing of 15,000 copies, and reprinted within two years, it was chosen as a book for premium and select ASCD members.• Researched, designed, and wrote five online courses for educators which fulfilled continuing education requirements. As a freelance content producer, worked on award-winning PBS documentaries from the initial concept and research to the final production of outreach materials.• Conducted preliminary research about the legacy of toxins from industry and urbanization on Puget Sound and the Potomac River that was later funded and produced as a PBS Frontline show, Poisoned Waters.• Interviewed education experts and reviewed data on school districts across thecountry to determine the districts, schools, people to feature in the prime time special, Making Schools Work, which aired nationwide and won Sigma Delta Chi’s National Public Service award (2005).• Managed and wrote content for a new website and discussion guide that were developed in conjunction with the documentary, Making Schools Work.
