Knab is a Dutch online bank. At Knab I worked on the mobile banking app for Android. My responsibility mainly was to improve the existing app and improving the architecture. I worked in a international Scrum team. Security and usability are two very important aspects of building a banking app, we as a team had many discussions to find the best possible solutions to issues related to those aspects. Besides development work I was also involved in implementing Google Analytics into the app and providing means to analyse the data and combine it with other data sources to get meaningful insights, I learned colleagues to use Google Analytics. Sometimes I got the opportunity to prepare and provide ways to have effective Scrum sessions like Retrospectives, something I really like to do.

MDC International provides IT solution to the retail market and has customers from all over the world, my responsibility was the development of the different Android apps for those customers. I worked on both improving and refactoring existing apps and creating new apps. Besides development I also worked on improving the development process by setting up a build-server for automated builds, and improving the app version management and introduced a standardised Git workflow. I also introduced unit-tests and tools to improve app localisation.During my time at MDC I also had to work with Motorola’s self-scan solution (Zebra) in terms of software and hardware.
