I love numbers. Anything involving manipulation of numbers has always been intriguing and fascinating. Ever since I was a young kid, I enjoyed solving simple math problems without calculators. To most of my friends at the time, it was a rather tedious and uninteresting task, but to me, solving each problem mentally gave me great satisfaction.This passion grew even more with my first trophy in a state math competition held in Washington. I was fortunate to be able to join and train at a high school math team when I was in junior high. My very first award was winning two 1st place trophies in Mu Alpha Theta Math competition amongst other high school students. This eventually led to joining a math team at Kent, and specializing in this area to have now end up studying in Cornell.Unfortunately, math competitions became irrelevant once I got into college. It was less intriguing. But, numbers are not. They are still fun because of the absoluteness of numbers. Any proofs or demonstrations can be done far more effectively with numbers. The fact that two is greater than one cannot be disproved. And my interest in finance started to grow because the study itself offered an insight into how our world is operating. So now, I would like to see how the type of synergy those interests can bring to my future. Using math and practical skills learned from Cornell to show and prove how some things could be done better, how more profit can be made, and how this world could be operated more efficiently.
