Key Responsibilities:- Preparation of full set of accounts and ensuring timely closing of accounts of the Parent Company and follow up with the subsidiaries involving monthly forecasts/budgets, cost tracking, monitoring and controls to specific deadlines;- Responsible for timely monthly consolidated financial statements, payments, cash-flow management reports for submission to Group CFO;- Review & approve payment vouchers, adjusting entries, bank and other reconciliations, abnormal activities & journal entries;- Liaison with banks and arrange for financing facilities for Parent Company projects and ventures and assist the subsidiaries in securing the facilities. Ensure compliance of the bank agreements throughout the group;- Perform cash flow forecasting, budgeting and working closely with the operations teams in analyzing margins, variances and cost analysis to specific deadlines;- Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system and policies for the Parent and Subsidiaries in line with the strategic objectives;- Support CFO in ensuring that inter-company cost allocations are in line with management agreements and reconciliation of monthly balances;- Accurately recording, classifying and summarizing financial transactions and events in accordance with Internal Financial Reporting Standards and UAE laws, rules and regulations. - Review of payroll calculations and assuring timely and accurate disbursement via WPS system;- Developing internal and external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. bankers, internal and external auditors, property appraisers, service providers, solicitors, and statutory organizations such as Central Bank, Ministry of Labor and Immigration;- Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations, local laws and regulations and legislation.- Researching and reporting on factors influencing business performance; and- Other financial management duties assigned by the Director of Finance.

Key Responsibilities:- Planning, execution and finalization of external audits.- Performing substantive and analytical procedures for audit, so as to determine the reasonableness of the financial statements’ assertions.- Identification of risks and evaluation of internal controls by identifying areas of non-compliance; evaluating manual and automated organizational processes; identifying process weaknesses and inefficiencies; and suggesting improvements.- Ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and local laws and industry regulations by the companies under audit.- Carrying out risk assessment of the client in accordance with BDO’s audit methodology and performing audit procedures based on that risk.- Working on reporting packages, in group audit engagements, including reporting to other global offices of BDO on different audit engagements.- Developing collaboration, coordination and teamwork spirit among the members of audit team to accomplish demanding jobs within the time, quality and budget targets.

Key responsibilities:- Engagement planning based on the understanding of the client’s business processes and assessment of business and risks, supervision of the engagement, review and finalization of financial statements, including close liaison with client's management;- Planning and co-ordination of assignments to meet deadlines, including the supervision, training and motivation of team members;- Liaising with, and developing good working relationship with the client to deliver engagement expectations and co-ordination with professionals in various fields like legal and IT experts;- Providing ongoing assurance and advisory services to clients, assisting client in obtaining finance from lending agencies, assistance in preparation of Financial Projections and Information memorandum and compliance with country laws and regulations; and- On-the-job training and professional development of staff.

During my employment, I was involved in statutory audits of Pakistan’s biggest Oil Marketing Company; M/S Pakistan State Oil (PSO); Asset Management Company, Logistics Company and couple of IT Service Provider Companies. I was responsible to carry out the audit with the junior team and report the outcome at managerial level. My target was to ensure that all relevant International Auditing and Account standards are met to maintain the quality of audit.
