In this central department role I provide on-site support to school libraries as needed for special projects and maintenance. I create, develop and maintain websites used by staff and students to access resources offered by Library Services, and provide training to new and existing staff in their use. I also support staff in the creation of school library websites using Google Sites, as well as other tools as needed. I facilitate orders offered by Library Services to all schools including promotion of current and upcoming orders, placing orders with vendors, submitting claims for missing/incorrect items, and distributing items to school locations.I produce content featuring various print and online resources, tools and other timely library information to be shared through the departmental social media accounts I maintain, as well as by email and newsletter.

As an Elementary School Library Technician I am responsible for adding, maintaining and weeding collection resources in five to eight different elementary schools. I maintain patron records including producing reports and processing payments. I pull specific items for displays and teachers, contact staff about new titles available, and assist in the selection of new titles and resources for the collections. I enjoy taking the time to promote the libraries by assisting and educating students and staff on the physical and electronic resources available and how to access them.

I maintained the day to day operations of the library. This included opening and closing the library, performing circulation tasks and maintenance of resources. I developed and prepared displays based on timely issues featuring both print and electronic resources. I provided assistance to library users in accessing all available resources, and referred to external sources as needed.

As a Library Technician I was responsible for opening the library each day. This included shelving returned materials, preparing the cash float and maintaining of office equipment. On a daily basis I would provide positive customer service by telephone, in person and electronically. I educated and assisted patrons with the use of print and electronic resources.
