Over thirty years of diversified experience at private institutions, governmental organizations and start-ups. Main focus for the past twenty years on the clean energy and low-carbon business. Founding member and Executive Director at Masdar (2005-2013). Masdar is owned by Abu Dhabi government and a global player in renewable & clean energy. I was a member of the Executive Committee taking the lead on Carbon Management and Climate Investments, including the Abu Dhabi Carbon Capture & Storage Project (Al Reyadah), Masdar Carbon Credits Portfolio and EMIC, a joint-venture between E.ON and Masdar for investment in clean energy and low-carbon projects.Advised the United Arab Emirates government on setting up the Department of Energy and Climate Change, as well as the National Climate Change Committee on developing the country’s green growth strategy and action plan.Represented Masdar & Abu Dhabi in notorious global organizations including the International Energy Agency’s Greenhouse Gas Program, Global Clean Energy Ministerial - CCUS Action Group and Global Carbon Capture and Storage Institute. Currently, I am running my own company "Tara Development" specialized in the origination & development of projects in renewable energy and infrastructure. Co-developed projects across the Middle East and Asia. Advised developers on solar projects in Asia, Africa and Europe.Earlier in my career, I was involved with building construction, project management and energy management.Author of publications on climate finance and the world's transition to a low carbon economy.Bachelor of Engineering from the American University of Beirut & Master of International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management in the USA.
