The first completed project is the CO2 capture from Emirates Steel plant and storage in Habshan gas field. 2- The Masdar Carbon Portfolio, a climate-based investment portfolio focused on carbon offsets in MENA and Asia. The portfolio produced at its peak close to 20 million tons of certified carbon credits (CER) which were traded on the UN-regulated compliance market. 3- EMIC (E.ON - Masdar Integrated Carbon), a joint-venture between E.ON (German utility company) and Masdar, focused on developing projects in energy efficiency, waste-to-energy and renewable energy on the global market.
