About Steve Nagode
I’m a hands-on engineer and prototyper who solves problems and makes products and tools for industrial and consumer use. With over 20 years in the industry, I have a breadth and depth of knowledge in materials, processes, and engineering analysis to take something from idea to prototype to factory. My “figure it out optimism” combined with a commitment to safety and function leads to cool, creative and utilitarian solutions. As an experienced forensics and safety engineer, I analyze mechanical failures, recall issues, and injuries related to bicycles, climbing, sleeping bags, tents, and most other outdoor gear and clothing. I have created ASTM standards, and use EN, ISO, CPSC and other standards to evaluate and test products and materials. Testing produces objective, trustworthy results that can be used for product design, compliance, personal injury or class action lawsuits.Well versed in the processes of 3-d printing, Solidworks CAD, welding, casting and bonding. I think outside the box for creative problem solving and unique solutions. I value the synergy and brainstorming of teams and group think. I work best in a hands-on shop, and think best on my bike or on a trail. From complex issues to simple fixes, I thrive on staying open to all ideas and possibilities and bringing quality products to life. I’m also an avid outdoorsman committed to health and sustainability. My physical activities greatly influence the practicality of my design solutions and material choices. In my free time I’m hanging out my two kids or having mountain, trail, and mini-van explorations and outdoor adventures.
Listed skills include Product Development, Product Design, Manufacturing, Testing, and 20 others.
