Student researcher at the Mice Biological Research Lab for 4 years at Doral Academy Charter High School's Doral college. Took part in a longevity study that investigates the effects of compound Buckminsterfullerene (C60) combined with different oil types, on laboratory mice. Gained valuable experience in Data Science working with the Tableau application, through which I created visualizations and predictive models with the data collected from the study, using the Python programming language. This research was published in the very prestigious, International Journal of High School, which selects the highest quality of high school student research in all areas of science

Attended 22+ hr speaker series from former astronauts and experts at NASA Johnson Space Center. This included Fred Haise, Apollo 13 astronaut. Completed Earth and space science course; topics included climate space background, space exploration, science and engineering, exploring the Earth, Mars and beyond, and python coding. Achieved all levels of NASA's Python certification (basic, intermediate, advanced as well as the extra credit level). I was given recognition in the SEES Research Symposium for having gone above and beyond in python as well as in my projects for the Earth, Space, and Engineering module. Working on the ICESat2 team, I developed satellite data analysis skills and python programming proficiency. I examined altimetry products and parameters over a wide range of global surfaces (e.g. ice sheets, sea ice, vegetation, ocean) from two Earth observing laser altimeters; The Ice, Cloud and Land Elevation Satellite (ICESat), operational from 2003-2009 and ICESat-2, which launched in 2018. The analyses included data visualization and validation using independent resources and complementary measurements to explore how the comprehensive observations can inform investigations associated with Earth’s dynamic processes most influencing our environment and climate.
