For over 20 years, my passion in life has been making the digital world more accessible for people with disabilities, in different North American settings and contexts, as a web developer, archivist, librarian, and since 2016, as a senior accessibility consultant. I do a lot of accessibility (physical and digital) and disability related research, and research studies, for businesses and organizations. I share my digital accessibility knowledge through workshops, presentations, courses, training, facilitation, audits, procurement consulting, etc. I love helping clients lower barriers for people with disabilities in websites, documents, audio, video, apps, email, e-books (EPUBs), social media, etc.My company, Access Changes Everything Inc. has offices in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Sackville, New Brunswick. Clients come from all over North America. I have been an accessibility advocate for over 20 years, and an internationally recognized expert in archival accessibility since 2010. I have done a lot of work with legislation. I was Chair of the Government of Manitoba's, Accessibility for Manitobans Act, Information and Communications Standard Development Committee. I was an Associate on the Nova Scotia Accessibility Act Independent Five Year Review. I was also Chair of the Nova Scotia Accessibility Act, Goods and Services Standard. In the Federal realm, I am Vice Chair of the Accessible Canada Act, Design and Delivery of Accessible Programs and Services Including Customer Service Standard Committee. I am also a Member of the Accessible and Equitable Artificial Intelligence (AI) Systems Standard Committee, and Member of the Accessibility Requirements for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Products and Services Standard Committee.I also am part of the Microsoft Inclusive Workplace Customer Advisory Council, collaborating with Microsoft to improve the accessibility of their products.I am also a researcher. In the academic realm, I have done many degrees, and have my librarian masters degree. I am also currently working on my PhD in Inclusive Education at Mount Saint Vincent University and Acadia University. I have created, and conducted, accessibility related research study projects in the academic, business, and legislative realms for the last 15 years.
