About Sean Nitzen

I have a very eclectic background. Starting off in the Workers’ Compensation Claims world in 1992 and moving into the insurance brokerage side of business to risk management, selling, managing a $55M portfolio of mixed business, I have to say my joy is working with business owners and leaders of industry. I love getting answers to questions like these:(1) "What drives you?"(2) "What does the future state of your business look like?"(3) "If you woke up tomorrow and all your dreams suddenly came true, where would you be and what would that look like?"(4) "Are you trying to create a saleable asset, pass along equity shares of your business to key employees or just be more profitable?" I believe business has been derelict in their duties to business owners over the last 30+ years. I believe today’s business owner is just sick and tired of indifference from their business partners and service providers. "Nobody does what they say they are going to do anymore" - is what I hear most often. Those professionals who rise above in how they provide their services will endure. Those who have invested time (and money) into their A and B players and have made adjustments for scalability will always endure a great recession or pandemic. We are inspired by it every day. It is very difficult to be viewed as indifferent when you are making a meaningful impact to a business owner. If you do not love what you are doing each and every day, you are truly indifferent. That’s the real “secret sauce.” It’s in the relationships you build and sometimes pushing back on your partners for the betterment of your customer(s).
