My role is to strengthen current donor relationships and create new ones to sustain all Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kentuckiana (RMHCK) programs. Our Ronald McDonald House provides housing to 56 families whose children are receiving medical far from their own homes. We provide the everyday items, services, and spaces they need so that they don’t have additional stress or financial pressure. RMHCK provides three Ronald McDonald House Family Room programs inside hospitals so families have a quiet place to rest only steps from their children. For children and families at Norton Children’s Hospital, spotting our Hospitality Cart helps fill an empty stomach or bring a smile to children and their families. The cart contains snacks, beverages, small toys and fun activities. All three of these programs are available at no cost to the families.

With the help of two staffpersons, I managed the boots-on-the-ground operations of the South Carolina Chapter of the CF Foundation. I helped build relationships with donors and volunteers across the state, managed the internal operations of the local office, trained and fostered the talents of the staff, and oversaw the management of fundraising events held throughout the state.

The majority of my time as DSE in Atlanta was spent overseeing the Atlanta GREAT STRIDES Walk campaign. This walk-a-thon boasted over 1000 participants from the Atlanta area. In my tenure, the revenue for this one event doubled. My daily tasks involved donor and volunteer management, relationship-building, event planning, communications, and budgeting.
