Working to settle pre-arrival families with youth aged 12yrs and older to find successful social integration by seamlessly entering post-arrival services upon landing. I also manage a Youth Mentorship Program and design program delivery, handle budgets, manage social media accounts with experience in (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Facebook Business Manager) and facilitate in the creation of youth-centric multimedia content. Currently in the process of developing and executing a nationwide-strategy for the Youth Mentorship Program.

The Indigenous Services Working Group (ISWG) was formed in 2018 at our YMCA to address and recognize the needs of our indigenous communities, and our indigenous youth. ISWG recognizes our Canadian history of Settler-Indigenous relations and is committed to forming meaningful partnerships with Indigenous communities to understand how YMCA can facilitate to eliminate barriers to access to programs, services and opportunities in Indigenous communities. Our journey on the path of reconciliation will be a long one, and as a non-indigenous person, I recognize our first step to be “Education and Awareness”. This is a delegated volunteer position.

Maintained budget for social committee funds to organize social functions and events for the team, to boost productivity and morale, increase team work and collaboration, and encourage a positive working atmosphere. This was an added position (to my job title) I had been nominated for to execute by all the members of the team.

Assisted in program delivery for a youth program that shapes successfully integrated newcomer youth to mentor pre-arrival immigrant youth clients. The position also entailed in creating blogs and informational video for marketing and learning purposes for pre-arrival youth clients. Creating creative ways of encouraging youth empowerment facilitating workshops for youth was also part of the position.

This was a contract position as a billing administrator for Mircom Group of Companies who deal in security and fire alarm systems for multinational companies. During this role, I had learned to use A/X Dynamics to resolve over-billing issues for million-dollar projects, correspondent with clients to resolve payment issues, issued debit and credit notes and created RMAs. Without an accounting background, I had excelled at this position and was offered a permanent position by the CFO and the Comptroller of the company. Unfortunately, I declined the offer to pursue a permanent position in the social sector field at YMCA of Greater Toronto.

This was a contract position of three months that got extended for a make-shift litigation team for the Provincial Government to pursue class-action cases against them. My role entailed to read privileged and confidential policy documents, summarize and enter it into a data system. Upon the request of the lawyers, I had to look up relevant case documents for their litigation purposes. Furthermore, in this position I had supported the paralegals in their research for the class-action law suits.

Part of the Ultra-Poor Program, had visited sites in the most remote parts of Bangladesh to do field studies on the effect of grants offered by the organization to women under the poverty line. Created video documentary that was showcased in the Microcredit Summit in Italy and used in case studies till this date. Was awarded for the video documentation and a written blog article during the internship.
