Companies work with me when Bluetooth-app integration is a critical part of the user experience and product. Typically, I provide a starter-app with Bluetooth connectivity, or a Bluetooth SDK - so the mobile team can focus on the other non-Bluetooth features. There are also times when I will review/oversee the team as they handle Bluetooth themselves - to keep them from getting stuck and making costly mistakes. I've built mobile Bluetooth apps and SDKs for - handsfree commercial building access (proprietary and PKOC)- monitoring human respiratory function- continuously tracking body chemistry- securely accessing bank/ATM lobbies- interacting with toys/collectibles - administering dental hygiene equipment - managing food allergen testing devices - controlling vehicle performance equipment - monitoring fleet vehicles in realtime

Developed client/server Java components for predicting and analyzing hardware device failure. Application used JavaSE/Swing and other open source libraries (Apache Axis, Postgres) to power the UI, analysis engine, and storage components.

Responsible for overall architecture and implementation of web/mobile/desktop instructional technology software products. Frequently collaborate cross-department (Product Management, Marketing, and Sales) to define complex customer requirements. Work daily with Quality Assurance to refine test cases and validate functionality of commercial software applications. Provide direction to software engineers, review code, create and document software design and architecture. A bit of everything. Grails, Mobile, Cocoa, .Net, Java. Mostly centered around user interface/user experience design and application architecture. Created a commercial Java and Flash SDK allowing 3rd party developers the ability to control Audience Response Hardware devices using Java, Javascript, and ActionScript. A fun project that opened up doors for collaboration and partnerships with other companies. Developed the ResponseWare Blackberry mobile app for voting in interactive presentations. Later began redesign of this application using PhoneGap together with Grails back end services.Led a small team through design and implementation of a multi-tenant Grails web app for polling audiences and managing participant results using Java/Grails. Worked at all levels, jQuery through MySQL. Designed and implemented a Grails web app that integrated student data systems with desktop products.Created core architecture and user experience of the ResultsManager .NET desktop application.Created a VB.NET framework for integrating 3rd party student systems into the companies desktop products - which provided a 75% increase in time savings for developing integrations.Wrote custom UI controls and WinForms (such as a gradebook view, gradient panels and buttons) and a skinning framework for commercial.NET desktop applications.Improved efficiency and transparency of development/testing processes by implementing continuous integration and unit testing via CC.NET, Hudson, TFS and JUnit/NUnit.Introduced and administered Agile project management system based on JIRA/Confluence.
