The goal was to engage groups and communities internationally in discussions about issues related to infant feeding, emergency feeding, and the rights of mothers and babies.This project was approved and funded by the Tellus Fund Canada. The results for the 2023-24 outreach initiative were impressive:- Over 34 events held across Canada, Turkey, and Guatemala- More than 2000 participants- Support from partners and over 46 organizations- Reached over 1,000,000 people on social mediaPartners included UNICEF Guatemala, La Leche League Turkey, and SafelyFed Canada, among others.

Dec 2014- Director-writer-producer of "Mother of the Amazon", a documentary sponsored by Al Jazeera International about the struggle of a woman to protect her community from the construction of a dam in northern Brazil: Edizangela, part activist, part therapist and full-time community counsellor is leading the fight to end the rising tide of increased family violence and self-destruction and gain a voice for those being dislocated.By following Edizangela as she navigates these fragile family ties, this story also looks at her relationship to the outside world and explores the poetic balance between strengths and weaknesses, tension and love, kindness and suffering. Through her endeavors we see a strong woman whose work and life can be transformational and inspiring to those around her.

I was part of an international team that created a new non-commercial Latin American TV and IPTV content provider. Initially, it was designed as a Latin American TV satellite channel, and I participated in the design and creation of the entire platform. Later, the project evolved into a web platform. In my role as Director of Programming, I formulated the entire programming strategy.My responsibilities included researching TV programs in commercial and public TV channels across Latin America, prospecting, selecting, and acquiring over 3,000 hours of high-quality television programs produced in 21 countries through donations and partnerships for broadcast. Additionally, I established TAL’s Program Dept for Internet and television, developed manuals, and put in place procedures, methodologies, and criteria. I also trained the programming team and collaborated with them to maintain a consistent flow of creative processes in programming and production.I was also part of the commissioning editing team, where I defined in-house production through pitching and invitation, managed special projects such as campaigns, short visual pieces, and vignettes. I supervised the internet site and TV graphics and worked on promoting the project internationally by attending meetings and conferences to advertise the network, which now has over 160 TV members and institutions.

As the director of programming, I oversaw the broadcast and acquisitions of content for TV ESCOLA, a TV network owned by the Ministry of Education of Brazil. The network reached an average of 40 million viewers through terrestrial, cable, and satellite platforms. My responsibilities included conceptualizing the entire programming, attending international TV markets acquiring educational and cultural TV programs (fiction, non-fiction, animation, etc) for a 24-hour schedule. I gave support to the review process of publications and other communication material produced by TV Escola, provided guidance on the design and production and coordinated the publishing of pedagogical content for the TV ESCOLA MAGAZINE with a distribution of 900 thousand issues bimonthly. My work entitled me to oversee the production of over 4,000 hours of TV programs, and be a part of the commission editing team planning the yearly productions. Additionally, I promoted the channel at regional and international events, workshops, and festivals, sharing insights on its successful experience. I was also responsible for managing all contracts, and clearances, overseeing translation, subtitling, and final versions of programs in Portuguese.

I have experience as a specialist in media communications and environmental education through my involvement in UNDP's PROJECT BRA 94000 PLANAFLLORO. During this project, I developed an outreach program for UNDP's environmental education initiative in the Amazon region of Rondônia. This involved producing videos, writing newspaper articles, and creating a weekly radio program. I collaborated with approximately 80 citizen journalists who volunteered to generate news from various locations in the Amazon. As a result of the success of this program, I was invited by the Brazilian Federal Government to lead the Amazon National Radio (Radio Nacional da Amazonia), a public radio broadcast in Brazil. During my 6-month tenure, I revamped its programming and worked with a team of 29 journalists and producers to create content focusing on the Amazon region. The new programs covered topics such as education, the environment, ethnicity, human rights, gender, legal education, reproductive rights, and youth.
