I loved the detective’s journey of seeing the same puzzle pieces as everyone else, but being able to see connections and insights that others couldn’t.Today, I solve mysteries too. I uncover the hidden motivations of customers and match those puzzle pieces with a company’s technologies and capabilities such that a long-term strategy and roadmap click into place. It gives me the same satisfaction that the big reveal at the end of a really good murder mystery does. The pandemic even gave me the chance to combine my professional and personal interests. I started writing a genomics thriller. The first draft was awful, but the second one is getting better!
