I’ve been a journalist, consultant in regeneration partnerships and community engagement, and for the past few years have developed models for combining face-to-face and online activities for cooperation. I'm now focussed how maps, apps and stories can help residents, businesses and visitors explore and engage with the past, present and future of Clerkenwell, and the City of London, where I live. In North Kensington, where I lived in the 1970s while working for the Evening Standard, I'm helping a group of Troublemakers of similar age to develop a history of radical action in the 1960s and 70s.Nearer home I'm writing about the Destination City programme, launched by the Corporation to make the Square Mile more attractive to visitors, workers and residentsI've previously worked with the Centre for Ageing Better, Big Lottery Fund, Carnegie UK Trust and Nominet Trust on explorations into the role of social technology in community action, rural networking, and the lives of young and older people.These explorations combined a process of curating past research, online ideas development, storytelling workshops and interviews.
