As the Secretariat of ASWEK and Secretary of the Technical Committee for the Social Work Professionals Bill (2020), led by Hon. Joshua Kimilu, I play a crucial role in shaping the future of social work legislation in Kenya. My work in this capacity involves overseeing the piloting of the School Social Work Program and serving on the Advisory Committee Board (CAB) for a study evaluating the impact of Group Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) in Lebanon and Kenya.In addition to my legislative efforts, I am committed to advancing the Social Service Workforce through participation in the Stakeholders Meeting on Social Service Workforce Strengthening Mapping and supporting ASWEK's social media platforms, alongside SSK and FSWCD, to promote awareness and engagement in social work education and practice.I have a rich background in organizational development, having served as the Secretariat of the Kenya National Association of Social Workers (2017-2019), where I successfully established five regional branches and coordinated the activities of eight regions. I was also a Committee Member for World Social Workers Day 2018 and the Social Work Employment Expo (2019), and I played a leadership role as the Acting CEO of Humanity Rescue Foundation (2018), later transitioning into the Mentorship and Communications Director (2019-2020).Some of my notable achievements include planning Kenya's first-ever Sickle Cell Awareness Campaign, which involved producing a groundbreaking documentary and a movie to raise awareness about the disease. Additionally, I was a Committee Member in planning the inaugural ASWEK International Conference focused on Social Work Practice and Education in achieving the SDGs.With expertise in leadership, program management, and branding, I bring a deep understanding of organizational dynamics and strategic planning. My strengths lie in staff management, creating marketing strategies, developing customer service solutions, and driving team performance through non-salary-based incentives.
