During my career, I have managed a wide range of technical and strategic functions (Engineering, Projects, Operations, Asset Management) and have completed expatriate assignments in the Middle East, West Africa, Asia Pacific and North Europe in addition to my US experience. I have now repatriated to Houston and looking for senior leadership positions such as BU Manager, COO, Interim Senior Positions, Non-executive director appointments.

Business Unit Asset Manager, Asia and Pacific Rim Asset Management was a relatively new department in the organization and I was brought in to turn it around. In my role I reported to the regional Vice President. Project Planning and Management, Budgeting Major Expenditures and Capital Upgrades for a fleet of 13 offshore drilling rigs worth $4 billion. Responsible for developing Capital and Major expense budgets of about $100 million per year. Developed a program to continuously improve and optimize planned Reliability Centered Maintenance. Implemented an improved Process for requesting quotes for project work.  Led teams comprising direct reports such as Rig Asset Managers, Maintenance Superintendents, and QA/QC Supervisors spread across 8 Asia Pacific Countries. Established and enforced disciple in the process for Authorizing Major Expenditures (AFE). Drove improvements in the budget process. Promoted increased use of quantifiable data to support and justify financial decisions. Emphasised Focus on Objectives and Expanding Uptime.

Dubai

 I was assigned the region in the wake of a takeover of a major competitor. Was responsible for the merging the operations of three acquired rigs into the Ensco management system. Responsible for Operational Excellence of 6 Jack Up and Semi-Submersible Offshore rigs located in the Persian Gulf and West / Southern Africa. Including Safety, Staffing, Client Relationships, Marketing, Country Start Ups / Shut Downs. Led 5 Rig Managers.

 Reported to Business Unit General Manager. Supervised at team of 6 Engineers and technical staff. Offshore Rig Repairs, Project Management, and Maintenance, Rig Moves, Location Reviews, Regulatory Compliance, and Quality Control.  Developed a strategy and process for evaluating acceptability of drilling locations during hurricane seasons following the Katrina and Rita disasters.  Lead Search and Salvage of a Rig destroyed by hurricane Ike.  Was instrumental in getting the Ensco Fleet of rigs back into operation following the Macondo blow-out. Five rig start-ups in Mexico.
