Socrates Costicoglou is the General Director of Applications & R&D Division of Space Hellas. He holds a Dipl-Eng. degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Patras, Greece, and a M.Sc. in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University, New York, USA. He joined Space Hellas in 1998 and currently as Director of the Applications & R&D Division of Space Hellas is responsible for the management and execution of several projects commercial and R&D related to the topics of Cloud Computing, Applications, Cybersecurity, Quantum QKD, Observability, 5G/6G, SatCom, OSINT, Sensor Networks and IoT. Since 2010 is working in large scale commercial projects for the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs (N-VIS), Hellenic Police (AFIS System, PNR, SPOC, eCrime), MITA(Malta) Hybrid Cloud Project as a Technical Project Manager and Architect. He is also leading the R&D activities of Space Hellas and he has a significant track record both as a project coordinator and a reviewer in both European and National funded R&D Projects (H2020, Horizon Europe, ESA, EDIDP, EDF) . He was the project coordinator of the EU H2020 FCT-10-2014 City.Risks Project. He was also the coordinator of ACRITAS in Maritime Border Security. He was member of the executive board of the Hellenic Space Technologies and Applications Cluster (si-Cluster) in Greece, of which Space Hellas is a founding member. He is author or co-author of more than 30 publications in international journals and referred conferences/workshops.
