Sam Odle is a senior policy advisor for Bose Public Affairs Group. He works with clients on a variety of public policy issues involving health care and the life sciences. Prior to joining Bose Public Affairs Group, he served as the COO of Indianapolis-based IU Health and held the position of CEO of both Methodist Hospital and University Hospital. He retired in July 2012 after a career that started as vice president of operations at Methodist Hospital in 1981.Honors/Awards:Odle has been recognized on several occasions for his professional and community service. In 2011, he received the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee “Charles L. Whistler Award” for his visionary and enthusiastic leadership in serving the community in addition to his success in bringing together the public and private sectors for civic improvement in Indianapolis. In 2007 he was inducted into the Indiana Business Hall of Fame.Appointments/Memberships:Odle is a newly elected member of the Indianapolis Public Schools – School Board. In addition he was named Moderator for the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series Class XXXVIII in 2013 with the Indy Chamber. Board-certified in health care management, he is a fellow and past chairman of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He works with the Robert Wood Johnson Executive Nurse Fellowship program to develop future health care leaders, and is also a member of FACHE (Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives).Active in the community Odle is a member of the board of directors for WastePoint and has served on the board for the Crossroads of America Council of the Boy Scouts of America since 2001, including a term as president when he launched a $16 million major gifts campaign to help fund Scouting programs and resources to boys across the state. He served as chairman of the United Way fundraising campaign, which raised nearly $39 million. He also serves on the board of directors for the Jordan Foundation.
