The aim of my dissertation was to perform the characterization of a set of existing equipment/additive manufacturing technologies in the "Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto", "Instituto de Ciência e Inovação em Engenharia Mecânica e Engenharia Industrial" and "Escuela Politécnica del Ejercito da Universidade de Pichincha".In the experimental study, specimens obtained by the stereolitography process (SL), PolyJet, three dimencional printing (3DP) and fused deposition modeling (FDM) were compared considering the production time, material costs, print quality, surface finish and mechanical properties, aiming to determine the advantages and drawbacks of each of these processes.Link: http://hdl.handle.net/10216/80019MSc Degree concluded with 19 out of 20

The aim of my dissertation was to evaluate the performance of Ventolin coupled with three different spacers (AeroChamber MAX, NebuChamber and Volumatic) for the release of salbutamol sulfate, using a simulator of the respiratory tract, namely the multistage liquid impinger, in agreement with the United States Pharmacopeia. A numerical investigation was also developed, using the CFD Fluent software, in order to study the air flow, inside Volumatic, relatively to the respiratory cycle.MSc Degree concluded with 19 out of 20
