While interning at The Children's Trust, I have had to complete several projects, attend various meetings, work and communicate with my fellow interns, and work collectively with my supervisors. I have attended conferences such as the weekly Public Policy and Community Engagement Department, which provides me with beneficial insight into the collaboration between the departments. Having had to work closely with the other interns, I have had to learn to lead but not as a single leader. We all worked collectively to take on specific tasks to complete assignments. Communication has been my main struggle, but having to relay information to those I work with, such as changes in the calendar, locations, tasks, etc. I looked up to my supervisors and admired their mindset, goals, drives, and hustle. Danielle Barreras, Aundray Adams, and Amanda Gorski clarified misinformation, guidance on how to pursue the objective of a project, and encouragement that greatly impacted my work ethic, pushing me to work harder. I learned to better communicate with those around me and not shy away from asking questions; asking questions shows interest and seeking clarification or more information.
