CurrentUrban Utilities (previously Queensland Urban Utilities or QUU) is the water and wastewater services business which supply services to the cities and townships of five council regions in South East Queensland – Brisbane, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim and Somerset.Senior Process engineer • Initiated the development of Anammox culture leading to Australia 1st installation;• Initiated codigestion leading to 1st import facility installation currently is operational & generating revenue ~$250K/year;• Initiated and developed codigestion substrate screening and gate fee system;• • Completed two sludge contracts, achieving 100% beneficial reuse;• Investigated sludge pre-treatment need using Ultrasonic trial, leading to ~$20M capital avoidance; • Led capital submissions (up to $40M) and treatment master plans;• Provided operational supports - trade waste, anaerobic digestion, sludge treatment, effluent reuse;• Mentored and supervised seven undergraduate/ post graduate students and mentees.Stream 3 Manager (Treatment)Operation Improvement Program• Led Treatment Improvement leading to ~ $2M potential savings from various operational initiatives;• Led an audit on sludge contract.
