Thanks to my University, I have had the chance to explore different types of schools, learn about different languages and different cultures. I have had my internship for a couple of months in an international primary school in the Netherlands and one in Spain, and I have had one experience in a national primary school in Italy. I have learned so much from all those experiences! I have learned about the importance of creating a relationship with the kids, some classroom management strategies, I have also experienced quite a challenging classroom with some behavioral issues, and I have learned so much by observing my mentor navigating through it.I have taken during my third year of study a minor in 'Inclusive Education' that dealt with how can a teacher be inclusive, respectful, and mindful about all the different cultures and (dis)abilities in the classroom. We learned during this time about special needs children, gifted students, second language learners and how to support them at best. We learned about how to create an inclusive environment in the classroom and the importance of differentiating instructions, resources and tests (UDL) since every child is unique and different. This is my philosophy of teaching as well.
