Hello! My name is Sofia Barajas. I am a current junior at Iowa State University. Double majoring in criminal justice and psychology. My estimated graduation date is in May of 2019 with a bachelor in both degrees. My future goals are to graduate from Iowa State University and work as a probation officer for juveniles. To guide juveniles to the right path and help them achieve great things in life. Currently, I am a part-time Youth Associate employer of Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI) here in Ames, Iowa. Very very passionate with working with kids. Our kids, at Lutheran Services in Iowa, teach me new things everyday where I can grow and progress from. Potentially, my future work will be working with kids as well. I am bilingual and can help with any Spanish speaking employers. I love meeting new people and learning new things. Always up for a challenge, if I don't know how to do the job, I will try 110% to get it. My ideal employer would have to be friendly with people (primarily with kids), provide a safe environment for employees and clients, and have good communication skills with employees and clients.One of my greatest achievement is becoming a member of The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS).Another skill that I have is being organized. I like to have everything organized and in order. If I see something messy, I want to clean it up, so watch out! I’m not to the extent where I'm a neat freak but almost there.When I am not working, I love to spend my time with my family, listening to music, coloring for stress therapy, and watch movies on Hulu and Netflix.
