Analyzed PFAS breakthrough curves and isotherms to estimate the frequency of changeout for water filtration systems. Drafted a white paper with recommended treatment cost models and filtration media changeout requirements for water contaminated with PFAS. Managed a database of soil sample contamination data and computed upper confidence limits of arsenic and dioxin concentrations at various sites using EPA’s ProUCL to assess the health risk of previous exposure to these contaminants of concern. Researched PFAS contamination from AFFF use at U.S. airports and developed a model to assess the cumulative cost of damages associated with PFAS contamination.

I collected data to inform which gaps needed to be addressed and how to organize the existing data into deliverables for review. I created an Integrated Pest Management plan and Green Cleaning Policy for the building to supplement campus-wide policies that are currently in effect. By the summer, I hope to become a LEED-certified professional.

I created educational materials and updated current sustainability guidebooks that will be sent to all of Greek life at UCLA to encourage chapters to engage in sustainable practices.
