I served as the Capital Campaign Manager of the Anahuac Farm of Capaces Leadership Institute and successfully secured $4M+ of Public, Philanthropic, and Individual funding for land acquisition, infrastructure, equipment, green technology, and operations.Capaces Leadership Institute purchased 60 acres of organic farmland in Turner, OR debt-free on June 24, 2022, which is the first farmland acquisition in Oregon’s Farmworker Movement History (est. 1977). I was the lead organizer for the first large-scale fundraising event in the Capaces' history: The Anahuac Farm Benefit Event with guest speaker Paul Chávez, son of César Chávez and president of the César Chávez Foundation, on May 20, 2023. We secured 11 sponsors, hosted 250+ participants, and raised $55k. Day-to-day operations of the clinic included billing, customer service, handling medical records, faxing, filing, processing intake forms, and scheduling patients. I upgraded our employee handbook utilizing ThinkHR platform to 38-page living document and revised position descriptions for front office staff. I introduced management to a more efficient business operations platform, Google Workspace. I led the hiring process for physical therapy provider position(s) and physical therapy aid position(s). I solicited these job openings to four professional platforms, updated the website with job applications and served on hiring committee. I established educational relationships with six Doctorate of Physical Therapy programs along the West Coast with two promising clinical education partnerships. I spearheaded the clinic's COVID-19 Exposure Risk Assessment and Infection Control Plan for all employees and patients. When needed, I substituted as a physical therapy aide by cleaning common-use areas, equipment and assisting with patient treatments on both neurological and orthopedic patients.

The course explored traditional ecological knowledge, food systems, archaeological sites, protected species, marine sanctuaries, research, colonial history, tourism, culture, traditions, public health challenges, government and education initiatives, and connection to the natural world.

I led two Alternative Breaks, which are week-long immersive programs that focus on equity issues within each community. In June 2017 I led a Warm Springs Alternative Break Program with the Director of Community Engagement & Leadership, Emily Bowling and in March 2019 a Yakima Alternative Break Program with Student Affairs Graduate Student, Lisa Wormley. Each trip hosted 8 participants and required three pre-trip meetings, liability forms and waivers, planning and coordination with our respective community partners, driving 12 passenger vans, organizing lodging and food arrangements, facilitation and debrief daily and post experience. I worked closely with our community partners to engage in service projects and educational sessions supporting BIPOC communities (including the Wasco, Paiute, Warm Springs and Yakama Tribes, Filipino and Japanese communities of the Yakima Valley), food and housing insecurity, environmental racism, public health challenges, and more. I heavily influenced the Alternative Break Programs Risk Management Plan, which Oregon State University as adopted as a whole, as well as served on the hiring committee and onboarded the Immersive Program Coordinator professional staff member which now runs all of Community Engagement & Leadership Alternative Break Programs of Oregon State University.

I, along with two other interns, collected qualitative data to map assets for specialized projects and initiatives in Oregon counties to better inform OSU Extension Services and local leaders statewide. I conducted interviews in five Oregon communities for a story mapping project (ESRI) highlighting the successes and challenges of programs and engagement tactics. This helped build connectivity between community stakeholders, staff, and Extension through storytelling initiatives.
