About Sofia Bustos
I have dedicated myself to the design, execution, monitoring and evaluation of projects, and also to linking the projects with their environment. I have received important national and international awards, such as the one given by Mrs. Michelle Obama for developing a program that effectively improved the quality of life of children and their families by creating a model of healthy and sustainable food service, incorporating public procurement of local agriculture and food education in public schools in Washington DC, USA that ended up being a public policy implemented in that country.In April 2014 I founded Corporación Actuemos, a non-profit organization, with the intention of conducting an in-depth analysis of the sustainability and nutritional relevance of the current food system; to propose innovative strategies to ensure that all people have access to healthy, safe, nutritious and sufficient food.Desde que me gradué como nutricionista en Chile, he trabajado en diversos países en equipos interdisciplinarios, abordando la alimentación en forma integral, considerando la producción y consumo de alimentos de manera sostenible.Me he dedicado al diseño, ejecución, monitoreo y evaluación de proyectos, y también en la vinculación de los proyectos con su entorno. He recibido importantes reconocimientos nacionales e internacionales, como el entregado por la señora Michelle Obama por desarrollar un programa que mejoró efectivamente la calidad de vida de niños y sus familias al crear un modelo de servicio de alimentación saludable y sostenible, incorporando compras públicas de la agricultura local y educación alimentaria en escuelas públicas en Washington DC, EEUU, que finalizó siendo una política pública implementada en ese país.En abril del 2014 fundé Corporación Actuemos, organización sin fines de lucro, con la intención de realizar un análisis profundo de la sostenibilidad y pertinencia nutricional del sistema alimentario vigente; para proponer estrategias innovadoras que aseguren a todas las personas acceso a una alimentación sana, segura, nutritiva y suficiente.
