I was a peer teacher for the Spanish Conversation classes, which were supplemental credits. For the Fall 2021 semester, I peer taught for one section of SPAN101 and SPAN190. For the Spring 2022 semester, it was for one section of SPAN201. I had to lead and manage these weekly fifty-minute classes with up to ten students per section. Since these were conversation classes, there was a strong emphasis on speaking and listening skills, so we used Spanish 95% of the time in the classroom. Teaching with a lesson plan, I used classroom technology and focused on student learning using different instructional materials. I also assigned and graded work, which included participation grades, weekly homework, presentations, and oral exams.
