Seven months internship at Diabetes Research Institute, Miller School of Medicine (University of Miami, Fl, USA) as Researcher where we developed an innovative strategy that relies on the combination of nanotechnology and mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapy to overcome limitations of islet transplantation for Type 1 Diabetes patients; in particular the focus is to improve the survival and function of the transplanted islets using safer and more effective immunomodulation strategy.
