About Sofia Escandon
As a mechanical engineering major at Fresno City College, I am actively seeking opportunities to gain experience in both the manufacturing and engineering industries. I'm currently 19 and grew up in Fresno California, throughout my high school year I became involved in the community by creating a welding club to inspire other young women. This led to multiple opportunities to showcase women in STEM pathways through competitions, workshops, and recruitment. The high school I went to focused on manufacturing/construction pathways and offered college classes. While there I graduated with an Associate in Science Industry Technology, interned at PNM CNC shop, and gained 100+ volunteer hours. Going to Fresno City College I wanted to continue being a part of the Community so I joined the FCC Society of Women Engineers club and currently working as an engineering/mathematics FCC tutor.
