Volunteering as President of the Psychology Society has allowed me to lead a team to represent our members and students within the School of Psychology. This role has ensured I kept up with time management skills, been able to motivate others and speak confidently in front of others. Being a spokesperson for the society has increased my confidence and ability to work closely with my team and the lecturers to ensure our members are represented and enjoy their time at university.

As a section waitress, I was tasked to give helpful, accurate, and fast service to all customers. My roles were to serve drinks and food, take orders and generally make sure all customers were enjoying their time at our restaurant through frequent interaction. This also means I needed to coordinate well with the bar and kitchen staff to ensure we provided excellent service as a team as well as one-to-one with the customers.

Starting as a temporary sale assistant for the summer holidays, and became a permanent member at Clarks as a trained fitted after the summer holidays of 2019. The job let me complete a variety of tasks which included measuring children’s feet, fitting new shoes to the correct sizes, and organizing the shop floor. All tasks needed me to communicate effectively with all the customers of all ages as well as my colleagues. Furthermore, the job needed me to have effective time management, approachability, good customer service skills and the ability to work in a high demand environment.
