Profile bio

About Sofia Greenwald Villegas

I'm a proud alum of UC Berkeley, with a degree in Legal Studies and minors in Political Economy and Gender & Women's Studies. My passion for change, inspired by my experiences as a woman of color drives my interest in corporate social impact, law, and DEI advancement. I was selected for the prestigious Fulbright Binational Business Program as a scholar and am living in Mexico City, where I am taking Spanish MBA courses with an international business lens at Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de Mexico, and working at ITAM’s EPIC lab as a project analyst in their operational division for 10 months. Following this, I am looking to explore roles in mission-driven consulting, with a keen interest in social policy, cause marketing, corporate social responsibility, and DEI. I am also exploring foreign affairs and transnational business, as I hope to have a career that transcends borders. My time in Berkeley was spent focusing on equitable legal access, tackling professional development inequities for underrepresented communities through leadership, and contributing to inclusive innovation through an internship at the US Patent and Trademark Office. I've also conducted qualitative research, analyzing and developing policy solutions for the barriers faced by women of color entrepreneurs when growing and innovating their businesses. I have also completed two non-profit consulting projects. My 3.8 final GPA reflects my diverse skill set, including interpersonal fluency, leadership, communication, adaptability, and analytical thinking. As a native Spanish speaker, my bilingualism and translation skills have been assets in navigating the globalized world, and I am working to gain greater fluency in new languages.Throughout all my academic and professional encounters, I have found ways to uplift others and leave places better than I have found them. I am always looking for guidance and new skills to learn, so any advice or potential opportunities will always be appreciated!
