For years my parents specialized themselves in everything that involved restaurant practices. From starting up a new business from scratch to expanding to new locations. I grew up in a hospitality environment, that is how I got interested in this industry. On a early age I started to help my parents. I started as a waitress, serving the customers and trying to fulfil their needs, from arrival to department. We had many international guests through the week. Speaking English is a priority in serving our customers. Over the years my capacities have grown and now I work as a restaurant supervisor at two different locations. Every day I hand out tasks to my staff so they would know which area their focus should be on. The table settings needs to be on point that day when our guests are arriving. Also the inventories need to be checked for administration and possible stock up. Chores like these are an example of what I do as a restaurant supervisor. On my resume you find previous work experiences that demonstrates my ability to be able to work independently and efficiently. The reason why I decide to apply for a job as a supervisor elsewhere, it is because I want to work for an employer other than my own parents. Do not get me wrong, I am very grateful for what I have learned from my parents and they have treated me like no other hard working employee there. I just think that working for somebody else and working in a different environment will be beneficial for my learning progress in this catering industry. The nature of this job requires me to be focused on being a high quality serving team and everything else around it.
